I’ll use any excuse to make a bad pun, just ask Matt. Good thing he still loves me anyway!
I hope you all had a fabulous holiday weekend. Mine was spent choring, farmer’s marketing, napping with the dog, and going to the movies (Bridesmaids = funny). And realizing more every day what a difference this blog-thing has made in my life: I see the world with new eyes, especially where my camera is concerned. Yesterday, while putting together a salad for that evening’s 4th of July BBQ at Kara’s house, I was struck by how truly lovely a pile of newly washed lettuce looks in my colander, sitting there in the sun next to the sink. Capturing that beauty, on the other hand, is still a work in progress but here are a few shots I liked (told ya I took pictures of lettuce Kate! = )
I can never resist another picture of my beloved orchids, too, especially when they’re shimmering in the sun.
Of course the entire time I was fiddling with the camera my June Self Imposed Bookarts Club project was staring at me accusingly from across the room while July’s bag called curses from the studio upstairs. I think it’s about time to get back on that train. If you don’t hear from me in the next few days call the paper police – June and July did me in.
