I’m telling you, it’s not my fault! Can YOU resist that little voice that says “Me, right here, take me home, please!” ?? I can’t either, at least not very often.
This beautiful hibiscus followed me home from Freddy’s. With blooms that are about 6″ across and should get bigger if I can manage to keep it alive, this beauty was too good to pass up.
Just look at her!
Her little buds…
She even looks good from behind!
On my last thrift store trip I almost passed up this tote-like thing, originally for …firewood? Newspapers? Anyone? The kitschy paintings caught me in the end, and were obviously done by hand – no printing here. Kinda mod, kinda toll, just adorable. I’ll be using it for magazines in the studio.
Finally a vintage quilt jumped off the page and grabbed me when I was checking the Antique listings on craigslist. The seller said she bought it an an estate sale in a small town near my home but she didn’t have any other details. At 5.5 x 6.5 feet it’s a good size and looks hand-sewn. It’s in beautiful condition, with one stain I could see on quick inspection and a few squares that need some TLC, but with a gentle wash it will be good as new. I’m really not sure what to do with this one – I don’t quilt, but I couldn’t pass it up. Oh, and please excuse my tanned feet – I swear they’re tan, not dirty!
Has anything special grabbed you lately? Or perhaps you’re doing everything you can to get rid of some stuff? I need to start resisting that little voice before I run myself out of house and home… = )
