Yup, I’m in month 7 now, and happy to say I’m feeling better today than I did yesterday. Well, more or less – I do now feel like I’m catching a cold but at least the whine factor is gone!
So here I am at 6 months, and now at 7:
It’s silly but I feel huge even though I look little different from the last picture (rounding out but not poking out much more). I’ll be growing quite a bit in the next few weeks, too – baby is growing 6-8 ounces a week right now. He’s SOOOO active still, rolling and jabbing and stretching. There are times I marvel at this life inside me and how a 3+lb, 18-inch long being can possibly fit in there, and other times I’m already scolding him for pushing too hard and making me uncomfortable (accompanied by soothing belly rubs and oodles of radiating love, of course). I love this amazing journey I’m on.
The Nursdio hasn’t had a lot of attention lately but as I said yesterday, the knobs are on the cabinet and the top WILL be done this weekend:
Here’s the before:
It’s not a huge difference but now it has character, right? Even Matt said he likes this odd, rough finish and that’s saying something. (DIY: I took a palm sander with 60-grit paper to the drawers and doors, wiped it down well then sealed with a spray-on matte varnish)
Next on the Nursdio agenda is to finish the cabinet top, hang some pictures and shelves, decide what to do with my lovely globe sitting to the left on the first cabinet picture – I considered hanging it over the crib but decided that wasn’t the safest idea…maybe a vignette under the crib, with an old trunk I have and some books? I’m not intending to get a crib skirt or anything like that, so it would be somewhat visible – and figure out closet/dresser/storage for clothes and stuff. AAAAND complete some art for the upcoming Lake Oswego Festival next month.
