… I guess it’s time to feed them. Even when you’re all standing in middle of the neighbors driveway.
Sorry it’s a little blurry but I had to stop and take a picture (on zoom) of this Momma feeding her twins. Just off the main road to my house, in our neighbor’s driveway. I was about 20 feet away in my car but she didn’t seem very concerned and the fawns certainly didn’t care. They were hungry!
As 38-week old Baby Boy is doing his best to push out my belly button right now while I type this I can’t help thinking about breastfeeding and all the hoopla surrounding it these days… and it makes me realize if he’s hungry, I’ll feed him even if I’m standing in middle of the neighbors driveway. As discretely as possible, of course – I have no need to 1) bare my goods for the world to see just to prove a point, or 2) make anyone uncomfortable unnecessarily. BUT. I wouldn’t deprive my baby of something he needs if I could avoid it.
Enough of the serious stuff – these moments with the deer are just plain magical and special. We’ve seen a couple sets of twins at our house but I never thought I would get to see any of them actually feeding. Pretty cool stuff!
