First, strip down baby because outfit feels wet.
Next, open new diaper and place under old.
Open old diaper and pull off. Wipe bottom, hear gas, and realize there may be more coming so fold new diaper over important parts.
Realize diaper wasn’t placed properly to catch poo (and dodge pee when checking status) so now it’s useless, then realize it was the last diaper in the downstairs changing area AND he got the nursing pillow cover, the changing pad, and his socks with pee…
Quickly remove new diaper and put old one back on (no poo up the back of old one), then run down the hall to get another diaper from the diaper bag.
Walk in to stream of pee shooting out of old diaper – that really does it for the changing pad – and grab baby towel sitting nearby. Transfer baby to baby towel.
Wipe down baby, change diaper (yup, more poo), and pull over another baby towel because first one has pee on it.
Transfer now changed baby to new baby towel and dress in new outfit. Take a few pictures because now he’s smiling and happy as a clam (I swear he smiled through most of the above).
Watch baby spit up on new towel. Another one bites the dust…
Hope your Monday goes as well as mine! = )
