That’s how I feel right now regarding this blog: I’m just not here, not making the time to play here, caught up in baby and returning to work full time with all the gathering and long days and transporting that goes along with it. Wow, life is going by so fast right now! I thought I had very little time to create while wrangling the baby at home…now I’m adding a full day’s working and commuting to that and it’s all I can do once I get home to figure out dinner or change out of my work clothes before I hop into bed once baby has gone to sleep. Whew!
But I have this little man to play with and love and bring home at night for a snuggle, so how can I truly complain? By the way, this beaver hat (thank you Aunt Mary!) and his orange and black OSU clothes are keeping the Beavers undefeated this year…not to put any pressure on me or the little guy, but just sayin’!
I couldn’t be happier with Forrest’s childcare situation though – in daycare 5 minutes from work on M, W, and F, with my Mom on Tuesdays and with Matt’s on Thursdays. It’s a lot of driving but I love that he gets to spend time with both sets of Grands, and from what I’ve seen so far he’s in a great place at the childcare center. Plus I get to go over and nurse him at lunch and I love that. Pumping several times a day at work? Not so fun, but necessary at this point. I’m so very lucky that my guys here at the office are understanding and accommodating so that makes life so much more pleasant.
Still, I can’t believe how fast the past 12 weeks have gone, or that Forrest will be 3 months old at the end of the month. I swear he changes so much every day. And can I tell you how much joy I have watching that happen! He’s a miracle for sure, and a blessing, and Matt and I love him sooooo much. His smiles just slay us. And he loves to talk to the “booby” light fixture on the ceiling (I think he’s in love with ‘her’). And when he falls asleep in my arms, sucking his thumb, I just want to hold him and snuggle him (and call him George) forever and ever.
Even at 4:00am.
Especially at 4:00am.
