Did you hear? I’m 4 months old today. Squeal! (I’ve learned to make this sound really well) Pbbbbth! (I’m even better at razzing…)
I have my official appointment on Monday to see how much I’ve grown in the past two months; mom says I’m close to 14 pounds and I’ve grown almost 2 inches more in length, and “no wonder you’re growing out of all your clothes, little man!”
Grandma H nicknamed me Little Tree because I’m too small to be a Forrest. Boy am I working on that!
I love to make raspberry noises with my lips, and talk to Mom and Dad and my fingers and toys. I discovered when I’m in my stand-up player I can throw my toys across the kitchen and Mom runs to get them! Sweet! Then when I’m tired of that activity I like to fuss and fidget and get a little mad – is that wrong of me?
I still haven’t decided yet what my eye color will be, or my hair color. In fact, my hair is looking a little bit wavy – will I have crazy curls like Mom? Hmmm, not sure I’m down with that…
I love to mess with Mom while nursing. She thinks I’m hungry because I sorta act like it, then I spend all my time looking around – hey, there’s Daddy! Hey, there’s a fire going! Hey, there’s something on the TV! Hey, I have the best fingers, look at them they’re so cool! When she looks really annoyed I like to give her a big grin, brings her right around. Then I make this sweet little cooing growling sound and she’s putty in my hands.
I’ve decided sleeping at night is pretty cool too, even slept for 10 hours on Monday night (like THAT will be a habit, silly parents for thinking so). Man I was tired! But I wake up with a smile, so Mom and Dad think it’s pretty cool. Okay, Mom complains of something called “engorgement” but I don’t know what that is.
Life is pretty good. I’m just about ready to roll over, but I’m choosing the back-to-front option rather than that annoying tummy-time-front-to-back crap. I think that’s my choice, we’ll see, I may still change my mind. And I hear I get to eat real food pretty soon but eh, I’m still happy with the milk jugs so why hurry that?
This is Mom. Silly Mom, she dressed us in matching outfits today. Can you imagine me with all that curly hair? Nah, not me. At least, I don’t think so but I don’t know yet! I love when Mom and Dad make silly faces, funny achoo noises, when Dad whistles and when Mom dances around with me in my carrier before she puts me in the car. And Mom throws me up in the air, which makes me giggle every time – I think it scares Dad a bit, but I like it. Oh! Oh! Have you looked in a mirror yet? The little guy inside puts his hand up to the mirror JUST WHEN I DO! That’s so cool.
I hear there’s a lot more growing I’ll be doing in the years to come but for now I love my Mommy and Daddy, my doggy and toys, my Grandparents and Aunts and Cousins and Friends and life can’t get much better than this. Okay, maybe when I get to try that ice cream stuff, and some things called chocolate and medium rare steak, life will get better… I’ll let you know.
