Happy Monday! How was your weekend? We took a quick, unexpected trip to the beach on Saturday and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The weather was amazing, the beach wasn’t crowded where we ended up, and Forrest enjoyed everything about it but the cold, wet sand on his feet right by the water (and the coooold Oregon ocean, but who can blame him for that?). He stirred sand, grabbed sand, flung sand, piled sand on mom’s leg, and once daddy dug up some damp sand right by us he covered himself in that, too. Sand in his hair, in his ears, in his diaper… it was awesome. Pretty soon he’ll be like those kids and dad in the background, feverishly building a sand castle/fort/pentagon in dread/hope/fear that the “tsunami waves!!” will fill it up and knock it over. Then he’ll start all over again.
Other than that we cleaned house, cooked dinner both nights, played with Forrest a lot, I belly danced on Sunday and Matt had a nap on the new couch upstairs. The sun was shining, the breeze was blowing, and we’re so lucky to be in this golden period of summer and almost-1-year-old life.
Here’s to so much more golden time going forward.
Have a great week, everyone!
