We’ve lived at our home for almost 6 years now. We have some forested property on our land and for the first time up popped clusters of strange little fairy fungus/flowers. The internets tell me it’s called Indian Pipe or Corpse Plant (I like Indian Pipe better), Monotropa Uniflora, a parasitic, chlorophyll-free flower that “blooms” when the conditions are right. It’s odd and alien and beautiful, a fairy flower indeed. I call it a Tiny Treasure.
We were in Maui last week for a family vacation and I’m still assimilating being back in Oregon. I’m glad the weather is nice so I can hold on to that warm, breezy Hawaiian feeling for a while. Stay tuned for a few pictures soon. = )
