Hey, did you know it’s snowing in Oregon? In February! AGAIN!! Usually I’m all for the snow; I grew up in Oregon so actual snowfall that can be enjoyed for more than a day is relatively rare. Granted it’s not fun to drive in, ’cause for the most part we Oregonians don’t know what we’re doing… okay, that’s too broad an accusation. Maybe I should say we metro-Oregonians who live in Portland and the valley generally don’t know what we’re doing… but I digress! I’m complaining about the snow here!
You see, I want Spring to arrive. I want the daffodils and crocus and snow drops and lilac to come springing forth. I want to watch the birds and animals frolic in the sunshine (did you hear that! Sunshine! Even though we’re getting sunbreaks between the snow, it doesn’t count! Hear me?!) and look forward to my annual hunting of the egg shards and fallen feathers. And I’m going to keep complaining about this snow, and then probably complain about the Spring rains, then I’ll complain when it gets too hot in the summer, and then I’ll complain in the fall when we start to lose our late evening light. I’m good for that.
So if you have snow too, here in Oregon or elsewhere, I hope you enjoy it if you want to or complain about it if you don’t. I know I will be (but I’ll be enjoying it from inside with my hot toddy when I get home, because I’m fickle like that too).
Sarah and Piebald seem to think this will be a bad one – we rarely see them in the morning.
Aren’t these the most perfect snowy trees you’ve ever seen IN FEBRUARY! Gripe, moan, bitch, complain grumble grumble grumble…
(p.s. Birthday card swaps going out this week, more on that crafty endeavor at a later date)
These pictures are…well *gasp* lovely!
Could you make cards from these???
Okay, sorry if I am laboring the point but really Jamie, these are incredible. The blue light and the trees, and the DEER!
If you can photo shop (or whatever)) the porch post out, it really is a perfect xmas card.
And the one below that. When I position it so that it is “cropped” above the wall, its just.. well….serene.
No really, stop telling me I’m brilliant… I hadn’t thought about turning the pics into cards but it’s a great idea. I’ll look into it!
